we do well to count our blessings

"There is a deep-down tranquility of heart, which comes from an implicit belief in the promise that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. Couple with this the joy of anticipation such as sustained Jesus himself, who for the joy set before him endured the cross and despised the shame. Add to these the joy of receiving the Gospel, the joy of sincere allegiance to a faithful Lord, the joy of service, of progress in knowledge and in the development of a good conscience. Further, there is the joy of seeing the fulfillment of prophecy and the consequent approaching solution of all problems; the joy of worship and communication with those of like precious faith; the divine joy which comes from having obedient children, in the family and in the Lord--these and many more are present blessings we do well to count."
